WORKSHOP ON EVALUATION OF RICE VARIETIES EXPORTED AND SALT RESISTANT FOR THE MEKONG DELTA IN THE WINTER-SPRING 2021-2022
Rice Research Program of the Mekong Delta Research Institute (HATRI) in 2022.

HATRI Institute for Improving Rice Quality is decisive to approach the goal of developing rice production in a modern, efficient and sustainable way. The Mekong Delta High-Tech Agricultural Research Institute has confirmed this in the development of its rice varieties. Choosing plant varieties is a long process. The classic seed selection process sees crops grow under mass conditions across many different ecological regions over the years in a sustainable way

Therefore, the new breed must also adapt to climate change. The study focused on aspects of how to identify diverse external genetic sources that correspond to stress resistance or stress avoidance, demonstrate resistance, introducing adaptive genetic factors, or finding target genes that understantiate a successful genetic modification goal. Although there are many such approaches, success is not always there, with a positive effect that responds well to external stress. In this Winter Spring Season, the Institute presents climate change-resistant varieties such as drought-resistant and highly productive varieties such as HATRI 10, Delicious Salt-tolerant rice varieties such as HATRI 200. Here, forward, hopes the new method can greatly complement the traditional breed selection industry to maintain and approach the progress of choosing new varieties, before the ...

The Mekong Delta High-Tech Agricultural Research Institute is constantly breeding , with the goal of shortening the growth time, to help farmers choose salt-resistant varieties for the winter-spring 2022 dry season in the Mekong Delta. February 15, 2022, The Winter Spring Rice Crop Workshop 2021-2022 organized by the Mekong Delta High-Tech Agricultural Research Institute

 Showed

  • 45 promising lines. Rice varieties are good for salty areas.
  • 60 lines of rice for high quality, productivity.
  • 6 varieties with high yield and salt tolerance and good qualities are rated as varieties: HATRI 10, HATRI 20, HATRI 200, HATRI 50, HATRI 474, HATRI722, HATRI 192
In addition to many very clean lines for high productivity.

Blast disease

The disease  blast is caused by magnaporthe oryzae, which is the main obstacle to rice production cultivated in small households in the Mekong Delta. Sustainable disease resistance is an extremely important development goal. More specifically, recent progress in the Mekong Delta has been infected with the disease, monitoring the spectral traces of the toxicity of the germs, and developing a program of breeding rice varieties against the cres at hatri institute. In order to develop high-yield rice varieties resistant to the disease, HATRI institute formed a breeding system using a "real-time" database of pathogen diversity and virulence spectra, to identify key resistance genes and weak resistance genes to religion, adapted to rice varieties in each locality of the Mekong Delta.  With a demonstration of 10 varieties of  resistance disease, we carry the desired genes. Field testing has four good resistance varieties in the Winter Spring 2022 season such as HATRI 200, HATRI 929, HATRI 195...
