WORKSHOP AND TRAINING "TESTING OF PEANUT VARIETIES ADAPTED ECOLOGICAL ZONES FOR TRA VINH "

          May 27, 2022, the training and workshop was organized by the Mekong Delta Institute of High-Tech Agricultural Research in Duyen Hai District within the framework of scientific research addiction cooperation. The    project "ASSESSING THE ADAPTABILITY AND IMPROVEMENT OF THE PROMISING NEW PEANUT CULTIVATION PROMISINGIN TRA VINH PROVINCE" is leader by NCS Nguyen Trong Phuoc: funding from the source of The Department of Science and Technology of Tra Vinh Grant province.    Attending the training guide was Tra Vinh Plant Protection Department. Department of Science and Technology of Tra Vinh Province, Commune, People's Committee of Coastal District and cooperative chairmen. The topic has been arranged 3 points in 3 districts of Cau Ngang, Coastal and Tra Cu. Coastal points are selected for breed evaluation training and workshops. More than 30 farmers and 7 officials participated.

Nguyen Trong Phuoc opened the conference and stated the goal "Topic: ASSESSING ADAPTABILITY AND PERFECTING THE PROCESS OF CULTIVATION OF PROMISING NEW PEANUT VARIETIES IN TRA VINH PROVINCE The common goal:  Assessing the superiority and perfecting the process of cultivation of new peanut heads adapted to the conditions of Tra Vinh province
Specific objectives: - Selecting at least 3 new types of peanut varieties to adapt to the conditions of Tra Vinh province. Newly selected varieties must meet the following criteria: + Average yield ≥ 4.5 tons of dried fruit/ ha / crop; + Growth time < 95 days; + Volume of 100 seeds ≥ 50g (humidity 10-12%); + High adaptability; + Less bacterial green withering infection; + Currently published in circulation. - Complete the process of cultivating peanut varieties to achieve productivity and quality in the conditions of the province: + Appropriate cultivation density; + Fertilization process combines the use of inorganic manure with organic fertilizers, microorganisms; + Peanut cultivation process for each variety Introducing bean varieties to serve the ecological area in Tra Vinh

-Nguyen Trong Phuoc reports and introduces Reducing time and shortening the harvest time of new peanut varieties is the main goal of peanut breeding programs. In the Peanut Genetics Improvement Program at the HATRI Institute, the traditional seed development time takes from 10 to 15 years; Despite these improvements, adult plant varieties need to adapt to different environments.  In this topic combines controlled environmental conditions, by molecular directives to choose fast peanut breeding that meets production. Speed breeding has succeeded in reducing the growth time of adult breeds for the whole season from 120 days to 89-95 days. Speed breeding can rapidly progress the near-delivery generation of the F2, F3 and F4 generations and has the potential to accelerate the development of the first generation.
 
MD7 peanut varieties: the growth time is 120 days in the Spring crop and 95-100 days of summer or autumn season. + The plant is 50-60 cm high, growing well. The number of level 1 branches per tree is 5.2. Standing tree form. The average yield is 35 weights per hectare. It's less (average). The skin of the fruit is bright yellow, the seeds are large long, have a light pink color. Each tree has an average of 13 pods. The mass of 1000 seeds is 510g. The causal/profit ratio is 70.3%. + The breed is moderately resistant to leaf spot disease, rust, bacterial green withers (levels 4-6). The breed is drought resistant, resistant to wet soil.
New varieties are developing
However, in order to raise the seed structure and variety of peanut seed sources for the locality, the Mekong Delta High-Tech Agricultural Research Institute develops new varieties such as HATRI 06  ĐP
HATRI 06 ĐPderived from.VNĐ1/ ĐP Giay Author: Nguyen Thi Lang hybrid and selective
1. Agronomic characteristics HATRI 06 ĐP breed has a growth time of group (90 days). Tree height 67.4 cm and primary branches 8.5. Flowering time 19 days. The number of seeds on the tree is 37.9 and  35.5  pod filling/ plant . The weight of 100 particles reaches 44.4gr. There are 3 seeds /pod for 10.8%. The yield of HATRI 06 ĐPhas great potential in the winter and spring season is 7.65kg / 25 m2, in the autumn season, the yield reaches 5.6 kg / 25 m2. 2. Qualities and reactions to pests HATRI 06 ĐPis a breed of good quality. Lipid :42.35%, protein :29.54%. The seed length of the HATRI 06 ĐPis 22.1mm.   Particle circumference 14.5mm..
Pest reactions, HATRI 06 ĐP is resistant to iron rot (level 1-3) and resistant to root rot (level 1). Through many productions at some points in the Mekong Delta, HATRI 06 ĐP proved suitable for intensive conditions in Tra Vinh. With a very beautiful shape, standing tree.

1. Agronomic characteristics HATRI 02 ĐPhas a growth time in the group (90 days). Plant ofheight 68 cm and primary branches 7.8. Flowering time 21 days. The number of seeds on the tree is 25.8 .However, in some fertile lands, the number pod filling23.3. The weight of 100 seeds reaches 45.2gr, so HATRI 02 ĐPranked in the large seed group, HATRI 02 ĐP. Pods are mostly two seeded  with pods have 3 seeds  around  21%.The yield of HATRI 02 ĐPhas great potential in the winter and spring season is 10.1kg / 25 m2, in the autumn season, the yield reaches 6.3 kg / 25 m2.
2. Qualities and reactions to pests HATRI 02 ĐPis a breed of good qualities. Lipid :48.96%, protein :21.34%. The seed length of the HATRI 02ĐPis 22.4mm.   Particle circumference 11.3mm..
Pest reactions, HATRI 02 ĐPis resistant to leaf spot disease, rust (level 1-3) and resistant to leaf spot disease (level 1). Through many productions at some points in the Mekong Delta, HATRI 02 ĐPproved suitable for intensive conditions in Tra Vinh. 1. Agronomic characteristics HATRI 03 ĐPhas a growth time belonging to the group (90 days). Tree height 68 cm and primary branches 7.8. The flowering time is 18 days. The number of seeds on the tree is 35.9.  33.4 ferility seeds / plant  . The weight of 100 seeds 46.3gr, so HATRI 03 ĐPis ranked in the large seed group, HATRI 03 ĐP. There are 3 seeds /pod  around  23.9%. The yield of HATRI 03 ĐPhas great potential in the winter-spring season of 8.3kg / 25 m2, in the autumn season, the yield reaches 6.7 kg / 25 m2.
 2. Qualities and reactions to pests HATRI 03 ĐPis a of good qualities. Lipid :48.96%, protein :27.34%. The seed length of the HATRI 03 ĐPis 27.2mm.   Particle circumference 11.3mm..  Regarding the pest reaction, the HATRI 03 ĐPvariety is resistant to  rust (level 1-3) and  Leaf spot diseases will not seriously harm  for dry season resistant to  leaf spot disease(level 1). Through many productions in some points in the Mekong Delta, HATRI 03 ĐPproved suitable for intensive conditions in Tra Vinh. With a very beautiful shape, standing plant.

The last decade has witnessed the rapid development of genomic tools helping to better understand the groundnut genome. MAS and MABC have proved useful for selected traits. Such as Leaf spot diseases. Emerging trait mapping approaches are expected to help the search for linked markers for other traits and develop diagnostic markers for breeding applications. The availability of local peanut gene sources will provide more opportunities to identify useful genetics to choose new breeding into production. Thereby helping the province to have a new breed set for the province to put into production in the following years.
