INFLUENCE OF ROW SPACING AND N, P, K FERTILIZER ON
THE GROWTH AND YIELD OF PEANUT (Arachis hypogaea L.) VARIETIES ON TRA VINH PROVINCE

SUMMARY
Field experiments were conducted at the research field of the Tra Cu, Tra Vinh from May to October to determine the influence of row spacing and N, P, K fertilizer on growth and yield of peanut under wet season (2021). The experimental design was a 2×5×4 factorial was a split-split plot experiment laid out in randomized complete block design with three replicates.The factors studied included: Variety [(A1) MD7 and (A2) L14]; (B) Row spacing [(B1) 20×20 cm, (B2) 15x20 cm, (B3) 15×15 cm, (B4) 10x20 cm, (B5) fellow farmers 10x10 cm] and (C) Fertilizer rates [ (C1) 100% of N, P, K, Ca, Mg (total35-60-60 + 150 Ca + 40 Mg kg/ha), (C2) 75% of N, P, K, Ca, Mg, (C3) 50% N, P, K, Ca, Mg and (C4) fellowing farmers N, P, K, Ca- 120-60-60+ 200 Ca kg/ha]. The result showed that MD7 peanut variety was found promising to produce high vegetative biomass and for high yield and weightof 100 seeds. The 15x20 cm and 15x15 cm spacing produced heaviest pod weight and high yield respectively. Interaction effect between variety×spacing and variety×spacing×fertilizer was significant with number of branches, yield and is significant with tree height characteristics, number of leaves on the plant, bark yield, seed yield and nodules on the tree. Farmers are encouraged to grow MD7 peanut variety using (15x20 cm and 15x15 cm) spacing for taller plants, highest number of branches, wider canopy spread and high yield and quality seeds with regard to weight respectively as well as apply C1, C2 to peanut growth and development.
