General goal: development 3 varieties of rice with high yield, good quality, short-term, salt- tolerance, resistant to moderate diseases, silver leaf and brown aphids. Select at least 1 recognized breed of test production breed, 2 test varieties (each must be resistant to at least 02 types of diseases and tolerate salt).
Specific objectives: development rice varieties that are tolerance to salt, have stable productivity, good quality, withstand common pests and diseases in the Mekong Delta, can be widely used in many different geographical regions. Breeding a pure variety with a yield of over 7 tons / ha in the Dong Xuan season, good qualities, saltiness above score = 2%o at the ripening stage. Breeding 1 pure rice variety with a yield of over 5 tons / ha in the Summer and Autumn crop, good rice qualities, salt resistance above Score = 4 %o at the beginning of the crop. Develop technical processes for cultivation of salt-resistant rice varieties and create useful solutions. Patent registration or useful solution. The topic has been implemented to: (i) Exploiting the starting material for the breeding program. Identifying a number of rice varieties that carry salt- tolerance genes by phenotypic and genotypes for breeding selection; (ii) Backcrossing to stabilize salt-resistant genes and qualities into the main rice varieties in production and high productivity. Release varieties that reach tolerance salty, high qualities and good productivity for production.
The experiment was conducted in molecular genetics analysis, net houses and in the field at the Mekong Delta High-Tech Agricultural Research Institute. Implementation time from October 2017 to December 2020.
The study includes: 1) The study assesses the styling on the source material for rice varieties collected from the International Rice Institute (IRRI) and the Mekong Delta Institute for High-Tech Agricultural Research and the Mekong Delta Rice Institute. 2) breeding single hybrid populations and hybrid populations delivered from combinations to stabilize the salt- tolerance genes of the source into yield rice varieties as receiving varieties, through the use of an improved resuscitation method (ABC) with the help of molecular assited selection. 3) Test production and production process of rice varieties in field.
The results of the study mainly collected 100 additional breeding samples for the existing corporation, including 55 imported varieties and 45 breeding samples collected from Institutesuniversity and localities in the country for the selection of salt- tolerance t rice varieties. It has been identified that some lines with high yield potential are OM4900, OM10252, OM7347 carrying genes with a large number of particles / panicle used as materials to cross the line with high yield and some good salt tolerance lines such as Pokkali, LN5, OM 5629, OM4900. These varieties/lines continue to be included in the material for breeding program
Hybrid results and genotype comparison with tolerance in salinity. Selected rich starting material source of 4811 lines in many generations of F2, F3, F4, F5, F6, F7, from many accumulated hybrid complexes. Breeing program were created by 20 single hybrid complexes, 6 hybrid combinations delivered BC1F1, and continued to cross 5 BC2 and BC3 complexes. Through quality evaluation and salt-tolerance gene screening. Building improved recall populations (BC3F2, BC4F1, BC4F2 with the participation of molecular directives to select individuals with tolerance genes to cross with the mother line (re-line), in order to stabilize the gene that prescribes salt- tolerance varieties at the level quickly compared to the traditional method. Molecular directives expressing clear polymorphism, linked to tolerance genes have been noted on these recall populations.

Genotype evaluation on the prospect lines of hybrid populations using SSR directives, in which the directives include: SSR for salt-resistant genes for 50 hybrid lines. Lines when analyzing genotype and environmental interactions in dong xuan like TPG1, TLG 1, HATRI 190, HATRI 192. Selected to create 1 rice variety (TPG 1 officially recognized variety and, 1 variety awaiting recognition of trial production pending appraisal (TLG 1), in which the variety is suitable for development for sweet allees (HATRI 10) and 1 variety suitable for rice and shrimp cultivation area (HATRI 62). Develop a farming process for rice varieties. Building new rice breed performance models on an area of 6 hectares.
The topic has also tested nitrogen fertilizers on experiments on HATRI 190, HATRI170, TLG 1, TPG1 varieties. It is noted that as the amount of nitrogen fertilizer for rice crops increases the rate of chakiness in rice, the amylose content increases but does not make sense. In terms of productivity the breeds have statistically significant differences. Development of the cultivation process for new rice varieties TPG1 and TLG1 has been recognized at the base council. Building a model to show new rice varieties in the field on an area of 6 hectares.
