THE DISCUSSION OF COOPERATION WITH KOREAN PLANT RESEARCH INSTITUTE
Dec 25th 2019 in Ho Chi Minh City, High Agricultural Technology Research Institute (HATRI), Mekong Delta, had a conversation with Dr. Young Chan Cho, from Korean Plant Research Institute, about the project’s processing in developing for rice varieties for Korea in two years. The workshop has been held from 2017 to 2019 in order to evaluate and select the qualified rice varieties and prepare for the next cooperation in 2020 to 2021. Dr. Cho and Prof. Lang will continue work on deploying to select the high-yield and potential rice varieties for Vietnam and Korea. At the same time with that, they will propagate the new ones such as KGIR1 and KGIR6 to the peasants soon.

Purposes in this cooperation:
The cooperation between the two institutes was official in December 25th 2019 which will exploit and boost up the prospective rice lines for HATRI and Korea; from that, optimizing the development of good varieties to provide for increased productivity.
- Testing KGIR1 in two seasons based on Department of Crop Production’s standards.
- Evaluating and selecting the prospective lines: delightsome and high-yield.
- Breeding KGIR1, KGIR6. And KGIR7 to provide commodity for Korea in the follow years.
