RICE VARIETY WORKSHOP FOR EXPORT AND CLIMATE CHANGE ADAPTATION

The rice research program of theHigh Agricultural Technology Research Institute (HATRI)in 2022. On 12/08/2022, the Wet season rice crop Workshop was organized by theHigh Agricultural Technology Research Institute (HATRI).   The workshop was attended by 5 Mekong Delta provinces with 70 delegates: An Giang Department of Science and Technology, An Giang Department of Agriculture, An Giang Plant Protection Department An Giang Agricultural Extension Center, An Giang Technical Transfer Center, Bac Lieu (Bac Lieu Seed Center), Vinh Long (Vinh Long Seed Center), Long An (Long An Agricultural Extension Center and Long An Seend Center. Can Tho (Can Tho Plant Protection Department and women's associations of districts including Thoi Lai, O Mon, Red Flag, Binh Thuy, Cutting Board, Vinh Thanh) attended.  Trinh Van Phu Company participated to help consume rice in future.
The program includes a scientific report summarizing the topic of Climate change and rice exports by Pro .Nguyen Thi Lang. The urgent issue is how to choose new rice varieties with high yields, good quality to add to the existing seed set and diversify on-site services to serve the needs of local production.
Yield and grain quality are the main properties that are often studied by seed selectors. Global climate change has also directly affected the environment and crop production. Several studies have shown that environmental factors have an extreme effect on crop yields (Kim et al. 2016). As the standard of living of society and the economy has improved significantly over the past decades, studies have focused on rice quality characteristics (Oryza sativa L.), such as milling and cooking quality. High night time temperatures have been reported to reduce the proportion of whole rice, increase chalkiness and reduce grain width in rice (Shi et al. 2016). The silveriness of rice is a complex polygenic trait that is susceptible to certain environmental and farming conditions, especially during the grain filling phase (Siebenmorgen et al. 2013). Although heavily influenced by the environment, amylose content, particle length, particle width, and particle ratio are mostly controlled by genetics ...
Climate Change Adaptation Varieties and Varieties for Export Rice Varieties Export: Elongated Long Grain Form, chalkiness .and High Yield Climate Change  tolerance varieties: Drought, Flooding, and Salinity
Visit the Demonstration Rice Field of HATRI Institute: The contribution of 10 delegates around issues related to rice quality, offer early breed recognition. Currently, many companies want to exploit such as HATRI 10, HATRI 20, HATRI 200, HATRI 190, HATRI 195....  Wait for breeding recognition. HATRI varieties 11 varieties intended for functional foods are also noticed.

Two focus issues: Climate change adaptation varieties and varieties for export 45-line prospect demonstration. Rice varieties are good for salty, mangrove and dry areas.  Seed set for 36 rice lines for quality, high yield resistant to pests and diseases for export
The set of rice varieties adapted to climate change selects 6 varieties with high yield and salt tolerance and good quality are well evaluated as varieties: HATRI 11, HATRI 200, HATRI 195, HATRI 919, HATRI22, HATRI 25
Sets of rice varieties for export selecting 5 varieties: HATRI 722, HATRI 188, HATRI 192, HATRI 195, HATRI 22.   Also many lines are very good disease and for high yields.
